Alkam et al. observed that dietary supplementation with the hydrophobic dipeptide prevents the impairment of memory induced by amyloid β in mice via restraining the hyperphosphorylation of extracellular signal-regulated kinase. Leu-Ile forms nanotubes in the presence of D-leucine.
